Death Wish Coffee is a company that produces a wide range of coffee blends, including their signature coffee-tea-and-cocoa which combines three different types of coffee beans. The company was founded in 1992 by Dr. James Moyer, a medical doctor and researcher. In the early 1900s, he conducted an experiment to test the effect of caffeine on rats' brains. Because caffeine's effects are not immediate, the rats were given a controlled amount of it each time and Moyer found that they would exhibit much greater physical and mental activity as a result. This experiment led to Moyer developing a "caffeine pill" for humans to use. Death Wish Coffee was released in 1992 as a caffeine pill that lowers blood pressure and increases mental alertness. They started off with just one flavor: Blue Mountain Coffee, which is sourced from Ethiopia and has been praised as "the world's best coffee." They expanded into producing different blends of coffee, including the White Russian, New Orleans Pecan Pie, and French Roast. They also produce several types of tea such as Royal English Breakfast Tea and Regular English Breakfast Tea. Their cocoa line includes Death Wish Cocoa, Death Wish Hot Cocoa Mix, and Death Wish Hot Cocoa Mix Chocolatey Caramel Toffee.
